For the remote Electronic Identification process, biometric data, resulting from taking a dynamic-selfie, i.e. photograph and moving images with sound in real time will be used. Collecting biometric data and using the dynamic-selfie enable us through advanced technological tools in combination with human critical skills to verify whether the person that requests remote electronic identification is indeed the same as the person appearing on the submitted identification document (national identity card or passport, etc.).
More specifically, the process stated below shall be followed:
- Automatically taking a dynamic-selfie of the under identification process user, based on the dynamic and not on the static taking of photographs, so as to ensure liveness.
- Confirming the identification of the user with the person appearing on the identification document, using biometric analysis.
In case of unsuccessful completion of the above process, COSMOTE Payments directs the under identification process user to a video call with a specialised representative for the purpose of the final identification.
Information resulting from the analysis of the biometric data are used exclusively for the purpose of electronic identification. COSMOTE Payments maintains as evidence of conduct of the above-described process the result of processing of the biometric data and not the biometric data as such. The biometric data are not stored.
